The short version
Where to book a Ghana tour online in 2026: TourRadar, viewGhana, GoWithGuide, Viator and a local operator compared on price, reviews and support.
Where is the best place to book a Ghana tour online?
It depends on the trip. Book a single day through Viator or GetYourGuide-powered pages such as viewGhana, a multi-day group tour through TourRadar, a custom day with a private guide through GoWithGuide, and a multi-country or founder-led route with a local operator like Ucomeafrik. Each is the right answer to a different question.
Disclosure: We are Ucomeafrik Tours, so we are not a neutral reviewer. Every fact about another option comes from its own page or a named listing, we mark second-hand figures, and we say where a competitor is the better choice. Data was gathered on 1 November 2026.

What are your five options?
Ghana trips are sold in five main ways, and knowing the type tells you what you will get before you read a single review.
- A single-day marketplace listing on Viator or a GetYourGuide-powered page.
- A multi-day group tour from a marketplace such as TourRadar.
- A private guide hired directly through a guide platform such as GoWithGuide.
- A large international operator with fixed departures.
- A regional operator that runs Ghana alone or alongside neighbors.
The sections below take each in turn, with the figures we could verify.
What does a single-day marketplace listing offer?
viewGhana's tour page, dated 24 November 2025, presents 30 guided Ghana tours "all available to book online and starting from just $75", powered by GetYourGuide. Viator, part of Tripadvisor, lists a Cape Coast Castle, Elmina Castle and Kakum National Park day tour from $99, shown at 4.8 from 716 reviews in search-result summaries.
These are ideal when you want a one-day outing with a recognized payment platform and many reviews. The trade-off is that you are comparing products, not companies. The page rarely tells you who the guide is, and for anything beyond a day you will need to stitch separate bookings together yourself.
What does a multi-day group tour on TourRadar offer?
TourRadar's Ghana page shows 100+ tours, including 76 group tours, 48 small-group tours and 23 private or personalized ones. Featured operators include G Adventures (5.0 from 16,051 reviews), Explore! (4.5 from 11,876), On The Go Tours (4.5 from 2,663), Pro Tour Africa (5.0 from 34), Continent Tours (4.5 from 22) and Olives Travel & Tour Ghana (4.5 from 33).
Featured from-prices range from US$1,429 for 8 days to US$4,610 for 15 days. TourRadar states that it "earns higher commission on featured adventures", so featured tours are commercially promoted, not only highly rated. Note that review counts are operator-wide, not Ghana-specific, and that On The Go Tours' Ghana trips are described as having up to 25 travelers with airport transfers not included, per a search-result summary.
What does a private guide on GoWithGuide offer?
GoWithGuide lets you contact independent Ghana guides directly. Its page describes guides as "Screened and Verified via Interviews", and some guides say they hold Ghana Tourism Authority licenses, which are self-reported in their profiles. The sample we saw showed a 5.00 rating from three reviews, with no rates or fees shown on the page.
A private guide gives flexibility and a personal relationship, and it suits a short custom day in Accra or Kumasi. The limits are the thin review counts, the lack of visible pricing and the fact that you are relying on one person, with no company back-up if they are unavailable. Always confirm the license and agree the price in writing.
What does a large operator offer?
Operators such as G Adventures, Explore! and On The Go Tours run set-date group departures, often with a tour leader and a social group. Their large review bases and brand recognition are real strengths, and they suit travelers who want fixed dates and a group.
The trade-offs are less flexibility and less local specialization, since these companies sell trips in dozens of countries. Group trips can also run up to about 25 people, which changes the feel of a heritage visit. Our best Ghana tour companies comparison goes deeper on these operators and the Ghana-based specialists.
Where does Ucomeafrik fit?
Ucomeafrik is a Lagos-based cultural tour company founded in 2009 by Confidence Aguiyi, who still guides tours personally and has led more than 500. We report a 4.9 rating from 868+ reviews on our TripAdvisor listing, which you can read directly, and every tour page shows a per-person price.
Our Ghana trip is the 9-day Ghana December tour from $2,450, covering Accra, the Cape Coast and Elmina castles, Kakum and Kumasi, and we also run the 9-day Nigeria, Benin, Togo and Ghana tour and the 13-day Grand West Africa tour. Our strengths are a single guide who also runs the company and multi-country routes. Our limits are a narrower Ghana-only departure range than a specialist, and no ATOL or ABTA protection claimed here.
How do the prices compare per day?
Comparing per day with inclusions in view is fairer than comparing headline prices. The table uses listed from-prices divided by trip length, so it is our arithmetic and is not like-for-like.
| Option | Days | Listed price (US$) | Roughly per day |
|---|---|---|---|
| viewGhana or Viator single-day tours | 1 | From $75 to $99 | $75 to $99 |
| TourRadar featured, lowest | 8 | $1,429 | About $179 |
| TourRadar featured | 8 | $2,000 | About $250 |
| TourRadar featured | 10 | $2,650 | About $265 |
| TourRadar featured | 10 | $3,995 | About $400 |
| TourRadar featured, highest | 15 | $4,610 | About $307 |
| Ucomeafrik 9-day Ghana December tour | 9 | $2,450 | About $272 |
The spread inside TourRadar alone, from about $179 to $400 per day, shows how much depends on accommodation level, group size and inclusions. A lower per-day number is not automatically a better deal, and ours falls in the middle of the listed range. Ask every provider for an itemized breakdown.
Which should you choose?
Choose a single-day marketplace listing for one outing in Accra or on the Cape Coast, when a recognized platform and instant confirmation matter most.
Choose TourRadar or a large operator if you want a fixed-date, social group tour and are comfortable with a less local trip.
Choose GoWithGuide if you want a flexible private guide for a day or two and will check their license and recent reviews.
Choose Ucomeafrik if Ghana is part of a longer route with Nigeria, Benin or Togo, if you want to deal with the person who runs the company, or if you want to travel in the December season with published pricing.
Choose someone else if you need a set-date group departure, a Ghana-only specialist for wildlife or birding, or UK-regulated financial protection. Our guide to traveling to Ghana for the first time covers the entry rules, and the two-week Ghana budget shows what a trip costs.
How do you check any option before you pay?
The same checks work everywhere. Read the operator's reviews on a platform they do not control, look at recent ones, confirm who the guide will be and get the itinerary, inclusions, deposit and refund terms in writing. Pay only to a business account in the company's name.
Be careful in December, when demand pushes prices up and very cheap last-minute offers deserve extra scrutiny. If you are still deciding between countries first, our Ghana versus Nigeria comparison helps, and our guide to choosing a reputable West Africa tour operator gives the full checklist.

Frequently asked questions
Where can I book a tour in Ghana online?
You can book single days on Viator or GetYourGuide-powered pages such as viewGhana, multi-day group tours on TourRadar, private guides on GoWithGuide, and multi-country routes with an operator such as Ucomeafrik. Choose by trip length and how much support you want.
How much does a Ghana tour cost?
Single days start from about $75 to $99 on the sources above, featured multi-day tours on TourRadar range from US$1,429 for 8 days to US$4,610 for 15 days, and our 9-day Ghana December tour is from $2,450. Compare itemized inclusions.
Is TourRadar good for Ghana?
It has the widest choice, with 100+ Ghana tours and several highly reviewed operators. Remember that featured placement earns TourRadar higher commission, and that operator ratings are not Ghana-specific.
Is GoWithGuide safe to use?
It describes its guides as screened and verified via interviews, but the license information is self-reported and the sample we saw had very few reviews. Check the individual guide's license and reviews and agree the price in writing before you go.
Is it cheaper to book directly with a local operator?
Often yes for the same itinerary, since you avoid a marketplace's commission, but not always. Compare itemized quotes for the same dates from a marketplace listing and a local operator.
What is the best time to book a Ghana tour?
November to March is the dry season and most comfortable, and December is the busiest and most expensive month, so book early. Our Ghana December tour is timed around that period.
Can I combine Ghana with Nigeria, Togo or Benin?
Yes. Ghana pairs naturally with its neighbors, and a guide who knows the border crossings saves time. See our 9-day multi-country tour.
