Terms & Conditions

Last updated: June 2026

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of ucomeafrik.com and any tour booked through Ucomeafrik Tours. By submitting an enquiry or booking a tour with us, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. About Us

Ucomeafrik Tours is a West Africa tour operator specialising in cultural, heritage, and adventure tours across Ghana, Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Côte d'Ivoire, Sierra Leone, and beyond. We are based in Nigeria and operate tours exclusively in West Africa.

2. Booking Process

A tour booking is confirmed when:

  1. You submit a tour enquiry via our website or contact us directly.
  2. We respond with a detailed itinerary, pricing, and availability confirmation.
  3. You pay the required deposit (see Section 3) and receive a written booking confirmation from us.

Submitting an enquiry form does not constitute a confirmed booking. A booking is only confirmed once a deposit has been received and we have issued written confirmation.

3. Payments and Deposits

  • A 30% deposit is required to confirm your booking and secure your place on the tour.
  • The remaining balance is due no later than 30 days before your tour start date. For bookings made within 30 days of departure, the full amount is due at booking.
  • Payments are made via bank transfer or a secure payment link provided by us. We do not accept card payments directly through the website.
  • All prices are quoted in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise stated. Currency conversion is at the traveller's risk.

4. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations by the traveller:

  • More than 60 days before departure: full deposit refunded, less a $50 administration fee.
  • 30–60 days before departure: 50% of the total tour cost is refunded.
  • Less than 30 days before departure: no refund. The full tour cost is forfeited.

Cancellations by Ucomeafrik Tours:

In the unlikely event that we must cancel your tour due to circumstances beyond our control (natural disaster, civil unrest, government travel advisory, or insufficient minimum group size), we will offer you a full refund or the option to transfer your booking to an alternative date at no extra cost. We are not liable for any additional costs you incur as a result of such cancellation (flights, accommodation, etc.).

5. Travel Documents and Visas

It is your responsibility to ensure you hold a valid passport and any required visas for all countries on your itinerary. We can advise on typical visa requirements but cannot guarantee the accuracy of this information, as visa policies change. You must verify requirements with the relevant embassies or consulates.

We are not liable for any costs or losses arising from your failure to hold the correct travel documents.

6. Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is strongly recommended for all Ucomeafrik Tours travellers. Your insurance should cover trip cancellation, medical emergencies, evacuation, and personal liability. We do not provide travel insurance and are not liable for any losses that would typically be covered by travel insurance.

7. Health and Safety

West Africa has specific health requirements, including vaccinations (e.g. yellow fever, which is mandatory for entry to several countries we visit) and malaria prophylaxis. It is your responsibility to consult a travel health clinic before departure and ensure you meet all entry health requirements.

Our guides operate to the best safety standards available in each destination. However, travel in West Africa carries inherent risks and you accept these risks by booking.

8. Itinerary Changes

We reserve the right to modify itineraries at any time if circumstances require it (road conditions, weather, local events, safety). Any changes will be communicated as early as possible. We will make every effort to maintain the key experiences of your tour. No refund is due for minor itinerary adjustments.

9. Liability

Ucomeafrik Tours acts as an agent in arranging accommodation, transport, and activities on your behalf. We are not responsible for any injury, loss, damage, delay, or additional expense arising from circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:

  • Acts of God, extreme weather, or natural disasters
  • Civil unrest, strikes, or government actions
  • Actions of third-party suppliers (hotels, airlines, etc.)
  • Your own negligence or failure to follow our guides' instructions

Our total liability to you in any circumstances shall not exceed the total tour price you paid to us.

10. Complaints

If you have a complaint during your tour, please raise it with your guide immediately so we can attempt to resolve it on the spot. If the issue is not resolved, please contact us in writing within 30 days of your return at info@ucomeafrik.com. We take all complaints seriously and will respond within 14 days.
