Description
The tour focuses on African and American history, Africa–European history, and the Transatlantic Slave Trade, with a strong cultural education element. You will visit 15th–16th century slave castles, markets, museums, and historic sites across Nigeria, Benin, Togo and Ghana. This journey offers a deep immersion into traditional music and dance, local costume, regional cuisine, open-air markets, and the living cultures of West Africa.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival and pick up. Day 2: Tour the National Museum, Lekki Conservation Center, Lekki Craft Market, then drop-off at hotel. Day 3: Badagry → Cotonou → Abomey. Visit Mobi/Abass Seriki Slave Museum in Badagry, quick city tour of Cotonou, then proceed to Abomey. Visit the Royal Palace Museum, Historical Museum, Royal Sepulchers, and (optional) boat trip to Ganvie stilt village and the floating market. Day 4: Ouidah, Benin — Visit the Voodoo Museum, the Sacred Forest, the Cathedral, and the Temple of the Sacred Pythons (see the ceremonial pythons). Day 5: Lomé, Togo — Drive to Lomé, visit Independence Square, Artisans Village, National Museum, the Fetish Market, Fishing Harbour, Art Street and the Grand Marché; visit Akodesséwa market and the slave house in Agbodrafo; visit Togoville. Day 6: Arrive Accra — Transfer and hotel check-in; relaxation or optional evening in Osu (Oxford Street). Day 7: Accra City Tour — W.E.B. DuBois Center, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Independence/Black Star Square, National Museum, Osu (Christiansborg), Jamestown, Flagstaff House, and local craft workshops. Day 8: Cape Coast / Elmina — Kakum National Park canopy walkway, Cape Coast Castle & Elmina Castle (Door of No Return), return to Accra. Day 9: Departure.What’s included:
